Mimmo Rotella made the portrait of the young couple Carlo Bilotti and Tina (Margareth Embury Schultz) in front of a painting by Giorgio de Chirico "Hector and Andromache".

At the time of the portrait, de Chirico's work was already in the Bilotti collection and had been exhibited the previous year at the "Twentieth Century Italian Art" exhibition held at the Finch College Museum in New York, where Carlo presented the most salient pieces of his collection of works by Italian artists in the United States.
